The Legal Liaison Section is primarily responsible for coordinating the preparation and subsequent release of Maricopa County Sheriff's Office records responsive to public records requests, subpoenas, and requests from Maricopa County departments and public entities.

You may submit a public records request to the Legal Liaison Section one of three ways:

  3. Mail/deliver in person to: 550 W. Jackson St., Phoenix, AZ 85003

If you are a member of the media, please submit your request to mediarequest@mcso.maricopa.gov

To request an incident report only, please submit the request through the MCSO Departmental Reports Section here.

Requests are promptly processed in the order they are received. The amount of time to completely process your request depends upon the number of requests pending, the location of the records, the volume of material encompassed in the request, the nature of the material being requested and the amount of redaction, if any, that is necessary.

Please be aware, if you are requesting records on a high profile investigation, the time to complete your request may be significantly longer as these cases are often voluminous. Identifying the specific record(s) being requested will help expedite your request.

Requests should contain information regarding the specific records requested.  MCSO cannot process requests for “all records.”  If known, please provide the name of the subject(s), date(s) of birth, date(s) of incident or requested records, booking number(s), and any other details that would assist the Legal Liaison Section to identify the records you are seeking.

Please ensure that you have provided your mailing address and a contact telephone number.  Once your documents have been collected, you will receive an invoice through U.S. postal mail.  The invoice will indicate the total fee for the requested records.  Once payment has been received, the records will be sent to you via postal mail, unless arrangements are made to pick them up in person.

Pursuant to ARS 39-129, effective February 1, 2024, the fee schedule for general public records requests is as follows:

  • Pages 1-10 $5.00

  • 10+ pages $0.50 per page

  • CD/DVD (audio and digital photos) $15.00 per CD/DVD

  • CD/DVD (video and body worn camera footage) $25.00 per video-hour
