Phoenix, AZ - In July of 2023, The Maricopa County Sheriff’s Office HIDTA Enforcement Action Team (HEAT) began a series of investigations into a pair of houses in the Town of Guadalupe reported to be engaged in the trafficking and sales of multiple illegal narcotics. These locations were determined, during the investigation, to have a loose association with one another in that they were sharing a customer base that made regular purchases from both locations interchangeably. Those locations were in E. Calle Magdalena and S. Calle Batoua/S. Calle Vauo Nawi.
Ultimately, the HEAT Detectives developed enough probable cause to be granted a search warrant for both locations and utilizing the MCSO Tactical Operations Unit (SWAT), executed upon those warrants. The combined results of these warrants netted the following seizures:
- 1g of methamphetamine
- 260 Fentanyl Pills Approx. (30g)
- 9g Heroin (36 individual baggies for sales)
- 6g Marijuana
- 1 Rifle
- 1 Pistol
- 6 arrest warrants cleared
The totals of seizures come secondary to the impact this has on the Town of Guadalupe as both locations are in the immediate proximity of Frank Elementary School. The sales and trafficking of illegal narcotics creates an acute risk to public safety, particularly in a close-knit community such as Guadalupe. “I’d like to thank HEAT Detectives for their unrelenting efforts to get dangerous drugs off the streets and out of our neighborhoods,” said Sheriff Russ Skinner. “We want our community members to be able to live in a safe environment and our children to grow and learn in a safe and healthy space so they can thrive and reach their full potential."
